Rep. Dan Crenshaw, the Navy SEAL war hero and congressman from Texas, joined the liberal bats on ‘The View’–and he wasn’t afraid to put them in their place.
The first half of the segment was relatively friendly, as the first questions were asked by Meghan McCain and Abby Huntsman–both of whom are right-of-center. But then co-host Joy Behar, who is vehemently anti-Trump took the floor and attempted to corner Crenshaw.
Behar attacked the president as “unpatriotic,” and told Crenshaw that anyone who supports Trump shouldn’t be wearing American flag pins. The Texas congressman shut her down in epic fashion with facts.
“I don’t want to see any of those flag pins anymore on Republicans who don’t stand up against this guy for Russian meddling and other things he’s done. It seems as though he’s unpatriotic,” Behar said.
Crenshaw responded, “I think we’re overstating it. First of all, that meeting was about Venezuela, but I will give you this–the president has a bad habit of repeating what Putin says. [Trump] has a pretty good habit of putting policies in place that are vehemently counter Russia. Just off the top of my head as I’m thinking about it…putting lethal aids in Ukraine, actually killing Russian militants in Syria, bombing Syrian chemical weapons of Assad, this is Russia’s ally. Pressuring the Europeans to spend more on their defense and to use our natural gas instead of Russia’s natural gas…None of these things are good for Russia.”
But the real fireworks came later in the show, when the hosts switched topics to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s controversial comments that many have called anti-Jewish. “When [Omar] referred to 9/11 as some people did something… I don’t think it was taken out of context. I don’t think she’s apologized either,” Crenshaw said.
Behar, clearly losing her anti-Trump arguments, then attempted to pivot to Charlottesville. She claimed that Trump had thrown a bone to white nationalists… But then Crenshaw shut her down. This is when things got explosive.
Crenshaw revealed how ignorant the women of ‘The View’ are. Then, last but not least, the panel discussed immigration. Once again things got heated.
Crenshaw’s appearance on the show revealed how left-wing its hosts really are. Even the so-called “conservative” panelists like Huntsman and McCain can hardly be called conservatives. They regularly side with Behar and Sunny Hostin, both of whom are loud critics of the president and conservatives in general.
