Michelle Obama surprised everyone on Tuesday night when she mercilessly bashed Donald and Melania Trump during an appearance on “The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.”
Daily Mail reported that Michelle has been making the rounds in the media in the past few weeks to promote her new memoir “Becoming.” She has been brining up the Trumps more and more each interview, but never did she take more of a mocking tone again them than she did last night.
It all started when Fallon showed the former First Lady a photo of herself and Barack boarding Air Force One in 2017, right after they had watched President Trump be inaugurated.
Asking Michelle how she felt when the photo was taken, Fallon said, “This is you, this is after the Trump inauguration just waving from Air Force One. Can you just walk me through what…”
“Bye Felicia!” Michelle interrupted him. This is a derogatory phrase that young people use to say goodbye to someone who they do not care for. It is effectively a way of saying “I do not like you, and I do not care about anything you have to say.” The audience erupted with laughter as they imagined Michelle saying this to Donald and Melania.
Later on, Michelle brought up the awkward moment in which Melania presented her with a picture frame from Tiffany’s as a gift when she arrived at the White House before the inauguration.
Images of Michelle making confuse faced about the gift immediately went viral, and in last night’s interview, she took the opportunity to try and humiliate Melania over the gift once again.
“A lot was going on that day,” Michelle said of that morning. “Right before that, my daughters’ friends decided they needed a sleepover for the last day. I was like, ‘are you guys kidding me?'”
She said she told them, “We’re leaving, you’ve got to take all your stuff, pick up the blankets and the bears,” going on to add, “and they were all crying and I was just like ‘get out, we’ve got to go.'”
Referring to Melania’s present, Michelle said, “So, there was that and then there was the Tiffany’s box. It was just a lot.”
Ouch! Whatever happened to “when they go low, we go high,” Michelle?
